Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

The regulations governing clinics that provide abortions and which were approved by Gov. McDonald, AG Cuccinelli, and the Board of Health, in no way improve the safety of Virginia women. The clinics were targeted as part of a political agenda, and are intended to make safe, legal abortions less available to women who need them. Despite testimony by medical professionals that these regulations are not needed to provide safe health care for women, politics have won out at the expense of Virginia women. Women's health centers have a proven record of safety, making abortion one of the safest medical procedures. The women of Virginia expect decisions regarding our health to be made on evidence-based medicine, and will continue to fight for the election of officials who are responsive to our health needs.
