Here we go again with another change for the client to get confused about. I think we should keep the 6/12 rule as it stands now. Most of the client's do not even like the IR, can you imagine the reviews every 6 months?? We always hear, "it is all the same" from the client. The mailing back and forth concerning all issues for the 6/12 is overwhelming now. With the economy and the high volume of cases (for myself 836 and increasing) how much more can we do? We have two vacants, so that means another 1600 cases to manage.
How about the cases with no income or expenses exceed their income. Maybe it should be a requirement that those cases be given the 6 month reviews/3 month IR's. That would help out. Especially if the pattern has been going on for years.
Can anybody at the State handle that kind of caseload??? If so, can we get the help. Please let it alone for a while for the economy to recover and caseloads go down, if ever. I feel that this is in the best interest of the client and workers.
I have worked in many areas of DSS and the effect that all policy changes have on all departments and customers. I have been in benefits (17 years ago), then VIEW, then Child care, then Fraud and now I am back in benefits for the past year. The current process is working, leave it alone for now. Put it on the "parking lot" and revisit it in the future, if need be. THINK!!!! HELLO!!!
