When I was young there was no feasible way to comfortably or acceptably identify as trans or nonbinary. There wasn’t even a feeling for a kid to pinpoint. Now the people and VA lawmakers have the power and ability to relieve so many kids of the gender dysphoria, the bullying, the feeling of alienation in their own skin. I fully back and advocate for the lives and rights of trans identifying kids. The assumption trans people are predators is a myth perpetuated by bigots. These are our kids. They need love and acceptance from the ones who have power because their peers are very well being taught hatefulness at home. It’s 2021 and we now have a chance to make our children seen, to make sure they know we have their back. We owe it to the ones who will makeup the future, to protect them from hate, bigotry and evil. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean it’s a threat to you.
