Protecting Public Health, Safety and Welfare

- Landscape architects directly impact public health, safety, and welfare. The most appropriate form of regulation to ensure that the public is adequately protected is through Licensure.

- Allied professions do NOT receive the essential training to carry out work commonly covered by Landscape Architects. Removal of license requirements exposes the public and public investment (in the case of public projects) to flaws which can result in impacts to health, safety and welfare.

- Licensing requirements including professional insurance mandated in federal work puts the profession at a distinct disadvantage/ does not allow the profession to compete for work as a project lead.
