Support of Licensure for Landscape Architects, Interior Designers, Waste Facility Operators, etc.

As I read the Professions being considered for "Deregulation" I became very concerned.  They all provide professional services that protect the Health, Safety, and Welfare of the Citizens of Virginia.  They all require a defined level of competence in their respective fields to become licensed.  They all require the licensee's competence to be tested prior to issuance of a license to practice.  Landscape Architects, Interior Designers, Soil Scientists, and Wetland Delineators are typically members of multi-discipline design teams for large scale developments that can have both an immediate and long-term impact on the Health, Safety, and Welfare of the general public, as well as immediate and long-term impact on the environment.  Deregulation of the listed professions should not be considered for the above reasons, and for economic reasons as well.  Each of the professions create a positive economic impact in their area.  Real tax dollars generated for both the local taxing authority, and for the State of Virginia.  When these professions are deregulated their ability to create value to the economy will be denigrated, projects will not have the same qualities they currently possess and licensed professional will likely relocate to other jurisdictions where their services are respected.
