VLA recommends rejecting the proposed regulations.  Details of our opposition will be contained within a letter dated June 19 from the Business Coaltion of which Virginia Loggers Association is one of several signatories.

In essence, VLA strongly supports less regulation and more reliance upon individual companies applying the best practices to insure the safety and welfare of their workforce. 

VLA recommends that DOLI provide carefully crafted practices for worker protections that are in compliance with CDC guidelines and allow individual businesses to incorporate the practices that best fit their business.  

Employers should be the responsible parties for determining practices which best fit their structures.

Employers should not be held liable for issues outside of their control.
