Governor Northam says he is using science to guide his decisions on the coronavirus pandemic. The science for decades has been and still is that masks are not effective against the spread of this virus or others. His science appears to be the science of convenience and not based on controlled testing.

His recent draconian demand that 'everyone' in the state wear a mask when in a private business was only made because a Democrat mayor in Richmond complained that 1/3 of his constituents were not following his edict and requested the governor make it statewide. So the rest of the state where there are very few cases of the coronavirus has to be whipped into submission because a mayor can't enforce his own edict where the cases were more numerous.

This is nothing but political gamesmanship.
