NO mandatory mask extension.

We wish to state our opposition to the notion of mandatory masks for the next six months. If the citizens so choose to wear them, they have that right. However, I know many who are being negatively impacted physically and emotionally due to the temporary mandatory mask mandate. A friend of mine developed a severe respiratory infection from the continuous mask use and breathing in her carbon dioxide and bacteria on a regular basis, she now cannot work and does not have paid leave due to this complication - only if she had caught covid, she stated she would have risked it knowing what she knows now because then she would have financial assistance while she recovers! Another family friend developed a staph infection from wearing her mask, again due to the bacteria breeding ground. I have had multiple encounters with people who have passed out wearing the wrong type of mask for extended amounts of time. Then when deciding not to wear the mask due to a complication these, handful of people, are them subject to hateful slurs and harassment if they dare go out in public without it. Let alone try to enter a store. I myself have been asked to leave stores when I enter without a mask, and even when I inform the staff I have a respiratory condition preventing me from wearing a mask, I am still asked to leave. There is not enough research to make this a permanent mandate, yet we can clearly see it is negatively impacting many citizens physically from a health standpoint and emotionally when they face harassment and ridicule from other citizens and staff in stores. Your citizens DO NOT want this extended for 6 months. However, those who feel safe and don’t suffer any health complications from their masks are allowed to continue wearing them without a mandate being needed. Please allow the citizens to do what is necessary on their personal level to mitigate the risk and safeguard their personal health. A blanket mandate for everyone is NOT a safe choice without the proper research to determine risk vs benefit.
