Reopen schools cautiously and safely to avoid second closure

Schools must follow guidelines and take every precaution when reopening in order to avoid a second shutdown within a few weeks.

Many schools will be operating with virtually no subs available (many subs are older and do not want the exposure) so even a small outbreak will be a huge problem.

Our first responsibility is to keep students and staff SAFE. Students who do not feel safe do not learn.

Invest time into developing an organized system for online instruction that allows for asynchronous learning while also providing structure and deadlines for students. There are “best practices” for true online education- let’s implement them for a semester until a vaccine is available.

Once a vaccine is available, MANDATE vaccination before returning to school.
