Although children do not display symptoms or get ill from Covid-19 as frequently as adults, they do carry the virus. Bringing large groups of children together, unprotected, increases virus exposure to students, their families, educators, classified staff,  and administrators in a building. Everyone brings this home and spreads it amongst family. The next day it is spread again to new places as each person goes to childcare, work, school, etc. 

If schools return without funded, strict mitigating measures in place, we are inviting illness and death to our communities. Masks or face shields are the simplest method to begin restricting the spread. If in-person learning cannot take place with a mask on, it should not take place. 

The economy is suffering, but its success should not be dependent on the death of our community members. Stop listening to lobbyists who do not care about our families.
