I am a general dentist in private practice in Richmond, Virginia. I support the VDA request for an exemption from the proposed emergency regulations for the reasons stated in the letter. 

As practitioners, we have restocked PPE and have taken measures aimed at preventing the spread of the virus such as social distancing within the practice to limit patient to patient contact, increased PPE for the staff and patients, and other measures recommended by other experts in the dental field at the ADA and VDA. Our workplace is already positioned to prevent and mitigate the spread of the virus by following the current standard of care. 

Additional documentation and reporting requirements on top of the extensive measures already instituted would be overly burdensome and unnecessary.
