no marks - harmful not helpful

As a firefighter/EMS provider I can tell you that viruses and pathogens enter through your eyes so wearing a mask over the mouth and nose (even assuming they are being worn propoerty and stop the spread of viruses) will not prevent the employee from getting a virus. I have learned extensively about masks and viruses during my many years of fire and EMS training.  Cloth masks are not effective in stopping viruses either.  I have to wear a cloth mask now in my other employment doing construction.  Wearing the mask makes me feel light headed and makes my heart race.  My co-workers have the same issues.   NO MASKS unless you are in a nursing home or infectious disease ward of a hospital where  you should or will be wearing masks/gear that actually stops the spread of the virus.      Mask wearing is both a fear tactic and a feel good tactic  to make people think they are protecting themselves and others but they are not.   Mask wearing is actually harmful to the individual wearing the mask, especially for those wearing masks for a long period of time and for those doing physical labor.
