PROTECTION FOR MY FAMILY AND MYSELF.

I am very worried about the safety of my family while traveling in a State Park, without any protection.

I have great respect for the law enforcement, park rangers, etc. However, they will not be walking beside my family as we tour our parks.  As with our Police men and women all over the United States. Park Rangers can not be everywhere all at once to protect the innocent visiters of our parks, etc.  Already I have read severel news items on innocent people being raped, robbed, murdered, beaten, etc. while in our parks.  Lets face it, today is nothing like when I was growing up. The idea of leaving our homes unlocked while going to the grocery store was no big deal back then. We did not have the gangs, terriost, drug addicts, bored kids, etc. in the numbers that we have today. Today we have to watch out for danger everywhere we go. Stores, malls, parks, sitting in traffic, walking to our cars in a parking lot, banks, in our own homes. Crime is rising so fast that our Police can not keep up. As hard as they try, God help them, police are in danger at every turn. If you think that a State Park with trees, bushes, solitude, and nobody around you could not be in danger then you are very mush nieve. There is a Wachovia bank around my corner. As with all Wachovia and BB&T banks, they have a "no guns" sign on their front doors. Which means even a CWP person can't carry in their banks. So far this one bank around the corner has been robbed at least 5 times and one Loan Officer, Tom, was shot to death because he could not get a mans loan approved.    After Tom tried and could not get this man approved for a loan, the man left the bank only to return, walked in Toms office and shot him several times, killing him, then raan off.  After that most of the employees at that branch transfered to other banks because they were so distraught.

So please approve concealed carry in our State parks. Our parks are there to be enjoyed not affraid of.
