exempt live in care providers

  1. Exempt Live-In Caregivers from Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
  2. This had little if any cost associated as live in providers are already identified with the fiscal agents, service facilitators, IRS, Va Department of Taxation, and the Virginia Employment Commission.   Any other costs are being overstated by DMAS as purely oppositional. The federal Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) allows Live Ins to be exempted and other states have done so.  This requirement for Live Ins to be included creates an excessive burden for people who live the individual - ARE NOT VISITING- and have the primary burden of care.
