Even though the software has offline capability, some of our patients live in such rural areas that the location can't always be captured. And when it is, it's not always accurate. DMAS states providers will not be reimbursed unless this information is in the claim file. We can't just not provide care to patients just because they live in remote areas-many without landline phones-as that would be considered neglect. DMAS has not been clear on what to do in these scenarios and we are just trying to provide the best care possible for the patient because that's what they deserve. EVV has been very burdensome and time consuming-the patient/client is what truly matters. There needs to be some better preparation/direction on what to do if the location can't always be captured.
