First DMAS issued a one page summary of EVV to law makers to explain to them any concerned constituent asking for help to stop EVV was just ignorant. Then DMAS still claims anyone can get the free Medicaid phone so they won't be required to purchase a service or device; yet this is untrue because numerous people cannot get this for many reason. Then DMAS is telling our elected senate and delegate members that they would require months and have to spend lots of money to identify live in providers. These providers are already clearly identified and treated differently by fiscal agents. There is no need to reidentify them. Then DMAS is claiming a new software would have to be developed. Maybe DMAS doesn't know each fiscal agent has an online portal that isn't going away (it cannot that is the only way to view historic data and verify the new hires have been processed, etc...) .. Live-in could just keep using the online portals. DMAS please stop trying to take away the less costly service. DMAS please stop trying to hurt the disabled this way.
