Offshore Drilling Public Comment

In a perfect world, all of our resources would be available forever.  As we know, some of our treasures, such as oil, may not be renewable.  We would love to think that we could power the entire planet on gas and oil, but that may not be so.  It is of the utmost importance that we stay in front of this industry and allow the markets to dictate how we get our energy.  With that being said, I am in total support of offshore energy drilling, and I encourage your backing as well.

As a native Virginian with a long family tree, I realize how important it is to set things up for future generations.  My working career has been in forestry/timber management where we deal with renewable resources.  In my home, I use wood for heat, and the electric comes from hydro-electric plants.  To my understanding, two-thirds of our electricity is derived from coal.

We all are well aware that the economy drives our financial security.  Over the past eight years, it feels as though a wet blanket was thrown on our efforts to move forward.  During our current administration, we have seen more regulations in place and needed tax reforms.  In my opinion, people should have a complete understanding about economics before voting.  We need you to get behind this mission by saying "yes" to offshore energy drilling.
