Thank you, Governor, for asking for our input as citizens as you develop the Virginia Energy Plan. I strongly believe in a Virginia (and an America, and a planet) that runs on clean energy — and no, natural gas is not clean energy. Pipelines are so last century — please place a moratorium on new fracked gas pipelines in Virginia. As a homeowner, I would love to be able to put solar panels on my roof, but I'm currently not allowed were I live in Chesterfield County. Please eliminate barriers to customer-owned solar! Finally, I believe one of the smartest ways to incentivize renewables would be to enact a state and/or federal carbon fee and dividend policy. Please stand on the right side of history and consider all of these measures. My two children and future generations are counting on you!
