I strongly oppose this regulation

I am an attorney living in Northern Virginia. I am unaware of any incidents by law abiding gun owners that would form a basis for this regulation being extended. The absence of the regulation does not appear to have caused any demonstrable harm, and the presence of the regulation only prohibits law abiding persons from possessing firearms. As these persons have already undergone a background check and carry responsibly everywhere else in their day-to-day lives, there is no reason to believe these same people would become unresponsible or dangerous merely by entering a state agency. This regulation is a solution in search of a non-existant problem. We should not enact regulations that inhibit liberty when there is no upside based on observed experiences.
