I OPPOSE banning lawfully carried firearms in state agency buildings.

I oppose banning lawfully carried firearms in state agency buildings.  I work in the Fairfax County Government Center and we have had "training" in the event of an "active shooter" in the building.  The instructions being given are to "run, hide and FIGHT!"  The County policies prohibit employees to carry weapons, although the metal detectors are sitting in the main doorway unused as the policy is subject to challenge by legally licensed concealed handgun holders.  "Run and Hide"--and be shot like rabbits cowering under our desks!!!  And "Fight"--with what based on County policy??  The only saving grace is that more than 3,000 employees are typically in the Government Center and the chances that a shooter will start with me is slim; I do not plan to stick around while some lunatic or religious fundamentalist kills my co-workers!  I often have to visit the State VDOT buildings and would feel more secure knowing that in the event of an "active shooter" that State employees have the means to self-defense!  Thank God our leadership from generations past understood the concept of self-defense and power-hungry officials and included the 2nd Amendment to preserve our rights as Americans!  Vote "NO" to this limitation...I expect the Virginia Governor has protection at his fingertips unlike the rest of us!  For us, we get the "Run, Hide, and Fight" routine!
