I support the ban because carrying a gun into public places serves no purpose except as a (false) security blanket for the carrier. Keep your guns in your home. Don't endanger me and everyone else because you're paranoid and insecure. Research shows the danger of this behavior. But of course the fearful don't believe it, and cling to their talismans. Stop this insanity.
