I am a Virginia law enforcement officer and I also have a Virginia CHP. I trust a law-abiding citizen from another state with a CHP carrying a concealed handgun in Virginia as much as I trust a law enforcement officer from another state carrying a concealed handgun off-duty in Virginia. It is irrational for the Commonwealth of Virginia to terminate reciprocity with other states that issue CHPs to their law-abiding citizens.
