NO to gun ban

I strongly oppose any rule or regulation that would prohibit law-abiding citizens with Concealed Carry Permits carrying a gun in any Executive Office Buildings of the Commonwealth of Virginia. I further request that the Comment Period be extended 30 days.

In the last 20 years in the United States, deaths from firearms has declined from 7 per 100,000 people to 3.6 per 100,000 people, and one half of the current deaths from firearms are suicides. During the same time frame, concealed carry has become lawful in every state but one, and gun sales have increased substantially.

Terrorists and mass murders almost always choose "Gun Free Zones" to inflict their hateful crimes upon innocent and defenseless citizens. We do not need more Gun Free Zones. In fact, we need more concealed carry zones, so that law-abiding citizens can excercise their 2nd Amendment right to self defense (see the Supreme Court Decision, Heller vs. District of Columbia).
