Gun Free Zones Reflect Ignorance or Ideology and Represent a Real and Indefensible Danger

The recent creation of yet more Gun Free Zones at Virginia state government buildings represents the politics of a disingenuous elite less concerned with citizen safety than with a specious ideology. Criminals among us, empowered by these "havens," can now have their way with a disarmed citizen and employee population.  Only the foolish can conclude they are safer as a result of this action.

It is an unfortunate truth that only law abiding citizens are affected by this measure.  These good people now suffer a serious increase in the risk of otherwise preventable violence after being disarmed by this reprehensible measure.  These newly-dangerous sites elevate the risk of real violence at the hands of criminals or ideologues who need not fear the possibility of being impeded or stopped by their targets.

There is no defense for this political action which can withstand close scrutiny.  This move runs counter to Virginia State law and the natural right of self-protection ANYWHERE in the commonwealth as enshrined in the US Constitution.  This direct assault upon the safety and welfare of Virginians must be repealed.

Please extended the comment period for for this Regulatory Action a further 30 days
