It is no secret that gun free zones do not stop or even "hinder" gun violence.  All gun free zones do is disarm law-abiding citizens, leaving them vulnerable to attacks with firearms by other individuals.  Off duty police officers will also have to disarm before entering the gun free zone.  This is an unacceptable breach of our rights to carry firearms, and leaves those affected by the gun free zone vulnerable.  I have a concealed carry permit in the state of Virginia and I actively oppose these regulations.
