What Has Happened to Warrant This? Plus Criminals Don't Obey Laws Anyway!

What has transpired at any executive branch agency office in Virginia to warrant making it a Gun Free Zone? In making it a Gun Free Zone you are opening up the greater possibility that a criminal will go there with the intent to shoot people because there’s not concern someone else might defend themselves.

In reading the news have you ever noticed how many criminals are arrested with the charge "possession of a firearm by a felon"? It's against the law for a felon to get a gun, but guess what? Criminals don't follow laws - no matter how many laws you make, they don't follow them...period.

No Governor has any authority to make this regulation.  If a State General Assembly wanted the Governor to have such power, they would have granted it to him explicitly, as is required constitutionally.

Real World Reality:

  • Criminals don't follow laws - no matter how many laws you make, they don't follow them.
  • Calling 911 allows the police “to respond to an incident already in progress”.
  • When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

I go on record to state opposition to this regulation, this regulation should not be approved, and the emergency regulation withdrawn.
