Making Virginia less safe. Unacceptable.

It is fact that over 90% of mass shootings in the past 20 years have happened in gun free zones.  So what does our Governor do to 'combat' gun violence?  He makes an executive order to turn all state agencies, including rest areas and DMV locations into "gun free zones".  So single women, the elderly, the handicapped or someone less fortunate is much more likely to be put at risk while passing thru Virginia and having to stop at a rest area or go into DMV.  This also applies to off-duty cops which is mind boggling as well.

How will you enforce this?  Will you provide adequete armed security 24/7 everywhere this ban is in effect to protect all Virginians in all these locations?  How much will this cost taxpayers?  Who will be responsible for the safety of citizens?

People already avoid Maryland like the plague due to their ridiculous gun laws.  Businesses leave, tourists cross them off a list of destinations to visit, travelers would just as soon drive around Maryland than to risk their safety or being arrested under unconsitutional laws.  Are you trying to make Virginia as unwelcoming, non business friendly, and as unfriendly to tourism as Maryland has become?  This will do nothing but make law abiding citizens less safe and those who are already at a disadvantage (handicapped, elderly, women, etc) more at risk.  Why don't you care about protecting these classes of people?

These regulations, coming from a Governor with 24/7 bodyguards, living in a highly protected gated mansion, who travels everywhere with a convoy of armed men are about as far detached from reality as you can get.

These regulations which create a completely unsafe environment for Virginians as well as US citizens who are passing thru the Commonwealth, should not be approved and the emergency regulation should be withdrawn.
