This is a dangerous idea.  Do you realize how many veterans and government employees carry because we're constantly being briefed about terrorist threats in this area?  You DO realize that some of us work in places that are known to be surveilled by "bad" people., right?!

I'm desperately trying to figure out why this was brought up or what incident would have been prevented had this regulation been in place.

Don't do something embarrassing.
