Why is it that politician feel the need to conduct knee jerk reactions to an issue?  The reason, public opinion.  The public needs leadership and not someone concerned about the re-election process.  Some of the most heinous shootings have occurred in the most Gun controlled areas.  Of course it has occurred in other areas too, so how do you stop bad people from doing bad things?  This is really the issue and root cause, not honest hardworking citizens, some of whom serve our great nation.
