By loosening the regulations governing these facilities we are placing unecessary risk on women and adding additional stressors to an already difficult situation. Recent examples of lax regulations resulting in hospitilization occurred at the Nova Medical Clinic in Fairfax county and the Hillcrest Clinic in Norfolk. And let's not forget the horrors that occurred at Kermit Gosnell's clinic in Philadelphia. Every woman that walks into one of these facilities deserves the best care possible. Please act to protect Virginia’s women by refusing to relax the requirements imposed by 12 VAC 5-412.
