When these regs were being updated only a few years ago, I attended many of the meetings to try to understand both sides of the issue. I came to understand that the stiffer regs were necessary to protect the safety of women. For example, it is essential to have halls wide enough to accommodate a guerney in case a womans procedure puts her in an emergency situation such that she needs to be carried to a hospital by ambulance. This sometimes happens, and therefore the reg requiring these makes sense. Please dont make changes! Edward I. Hardy Jr.
