Respect Women, Require Safety

Board of Health,

The abortion industry claims to be able to self-regulate; however, these regulations have revealed over 400 violations in just over two years:Blood splattered exam tables and equipment, unsterilized equipment, poorly trained or untrained staff, violations of state parental consent laws, the lack of reporting of possible cases of child sexual abuse, along with over 400 other violations through Department of Health inspections. Does this sound like regulation to you" Apparently the abortion industry has a different definition of what constitutes regulation than the rest of us. It sounds like in their dictionary, "self-regulation" means negligence, ignorance, and a downright disregard for safety - all to keep this thriving industry alive. Lets break down the numbers: there have been over 400 violations, and there are 18 abortion providers in the state. Thats an average of 22 violations per center. 22!! Why have we let the abortion industry get away with such a glaring abandonment of safety"Many of those who support abortion and deny a need for increased regulation claim to be pro-woman; however, what encourages disrespect for women more than denying the importance of their safety" When we tell women that we would rather have an increasingly expansive abortion industry than ensure that they are taken care of during this difficult decision, we are disrespecting them. Apparently the abortion industrys dictionary has a different definition for "pro-woman" too: putting the profits of an industry before the safety of women. DArcy McGreer
