These restrictions are designed to deny women their legal right to seek an abortion, plain and simple. While they purport to be in the interestests of womens health, they actually pose an increased risk to womens health as clinics which provide abortion services are forced to shut down, thereby forcing women to take matters into their own hands and seek potentially dangerous alternatives (unlicensed providers, "back-alley" abortions, etc). I support the board's decision to amend these medically unneccesary restrictions and to put science and medicine before politics.
