My husband and I support the Board of Health's vote to amend the medically unsound rules designed to shut down women’s health centers that provide comprehensive health care.The restrictions have nothing to do with patient safety and everything to do with inserting a politician between a woman and her doctor. The restrictions on women’s health centers in Virginia are about denying access to abortion. If the restrictions remain unchanged, additional health centers will close, cutting off access to preventive and critical health care for thousands of Virginia women. Women will lose the comprehensive health care, like cancer screenings, family planning, and safe, legal first-trimester abortion, that those women’s health centers provide.
