Uphold Standards, Protect Women

Board of Health,

There is absolutely no conceivable good reason not to uphold common-sense regulations on abortion clinics in Virginia. If abortions are to remain legal in the United States, it only makes sense to perform them in ways and in such facilities that protect the health of the women involved. Abortion clinics across Virginia and the United States have a sad history of botched procedures, shocking health code violations, low standards of cleanliness and a record of covering up mistakes. A woman who is already struggling with the difficult decision to end her pregnancy does not need the added fear of something going terribly wrong in an unsafe, unsterilized, filthy abortion clinic. If it is true that the goal of abortion-on-demand is to protect a womans welfare, then Virginia must make good on that promise by keeping abortion clinics in Virginia safe, clean and well-regulated.
