Womens health issues must address the safety of any facility which provides healthcare services. Virginias recent legislation which will treat abortion clinics the same as hospitals represents a legitimate pro-active approach to ensuring the safety of these clinics. I generally favor recent regulations which implement this legislation and encourage the VDH to rigorously enforce and apply these regulations. Compromise on the side of budgetary concerns which favor the providers is not sufficient to overcome the risks to which patients would otherwise be exposed. Roger Brooks
