Regarding Faculty Requirements for Career-Technical Schools (with corrected section reference)

8VAC40-31-150. Certification criteria for career-technical schools.

Section C, Faculty, requires career-technical school faculty to have an associate degree in the discipline being taught, or two years of technical/occupational experience in the area of teaching responsibility.  In the information technology industry, skill-specific certifications are accepted in place of, and in preference to, college or university education credentials.  Please include as a third qualifying option that faculty hold an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited certification at a level appropriate to the subject being taught.
