I appreciate the opportunity to provide comments on these guidelines and regulations to address basic sanitary and health practices at licensed abortion facilities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  While I consider abortion to be taking of an innocent life, these guidelines and regulations simply require basic sanitary, licensing, and recordkeeping practices to be observed by licensed abortion facilities.  The idea that implementation of these guidelines and regulations will return us to "backalley abortions" is simply untrue.  Therefore, I urge the implementation of these guidelines and regulations as proposed and as soon as possible.
