Targeted Regulations on Abortion Providers (TRAP)

Dear Ma'am or Sir:

I'm distressed to know that Virginia continues its unnecessary war on women. So many other needs are pressing like feeding hungry children and families; alleviating traffic congestion in Northern Virgina and Tidewater; critical infrastructure maintenance, repairs and enhancements across the state; etc. Yet Governor McDonnell and Attorney General Cuccinelli continue to focus their attention on restricting legal medical procedures by imposing roadblocks that are clearly politically motivated.

These roadblocks are not evidence-based medical practices that advance public health. In fact, they are medically inappropriate and unnecessary burdens that will restrict access to essential health care services for women in the Commonwealth, along with further marginalizing young, low-income, uninsured, minority women by decreasing their immediate and longterm health care needs.

The Governor and Attorney General work for, and are responsible to, all Virginians, and that includes all women. Their elected positions require them to check their personal feelings at the door and serve us all equally.

Sincerely, Jeanine M. Biocic, Arlington VA
