Training on model eye completely insufficient

Do you want to have someone perform a laser procedure on YOU who has only practiced on a plastic model eye?

Optometrists who perform lasers need to be required to have the same training as physicians that perform lasers. This means live proctored teaching sessions, not practice on model eyes. This training is done during a four year residency training program after four years of medical school.

It is simply dangerous and misleading. Patients have no idea that the training required by optometrists is different than the training required by ophthalmologists.

Now that I know this is happening, I'm going to tell everyone that I know.
