Support optometry laser regulation

Expanding the optometric scope to include the use of lasers is a significant step towards enhancing patient care and addressing the growing demand for comprehensive eye health services. Optometrists are highly trained in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions, and incorporating laser procedures into their practice would enable them to provide more immediate and effective treatments for conditions like glaucoma. This expansion would alleviate pressure on ophthalmologists, improve access to care, especially in underserved areas, and allow for a more integrated approach to eye health.
