We've heard about the horrors of the back alley abortions and we're told that Roe vs Wade would end them. But as long as abortion clinics are not required to provide due care to women undergoing this surgical procedure, back alley abortions are simply being deployed while the woman is in a more comfortable setting. We can end this in Virginia by making permanent the current regulations surrounding the protection of womens health in abortion clinics. What could be more right and just than ensuring that the clinic have on hand the necessary life-saving measures needed to protect the health of the woman should complications arise, and the health of the child who survives the abortion attempt? Anyone opposed to this measure must search their heart and determine whether their politics are overwhelming their understanding of what is good, just, true, and beautiful.
