I believe that at a time when women need more access to affordable, high quality health care, and not less, it is the state government's job to protect its residents and keep them healthy. Low-income women and rural women will have even less access to safe abortion care, not to mention birth control and other reproductive care if we regulate abortion clinics in this way. This is clearly a political move and NOT about what's best for women and their families. I ask, beg, plead, for you to understand that women are the BEST decision makers for themselves and to allow women to have full control over their reproductive destinies. Abortion in the state of Virginia will happen either way; the only difference is that women will become physically hurt from illegal or self-imposed abortions or worse, they may die. What a wonderful thing for this great state to be known for!
