The most effective way to eliminate abortions is to provide effective birth control and accurate, realistic sex education to all women.  The politically driven  temporary  "health standards" designed to eliminate many facilities that provide safe, legal abortions as a small part of their overall womens health services are obviously counter-productive.  Data from countries where access to abortions is restricted show clearly that the only effect is to vastly increase the number of unsafe, illegal abortions, at a cost in lives and health of the women forced to use them.  Show your respect for women, your desire to reduce  unplanned pregnancies, and your independence of politions playing doctor; eliminate the unnecessary, burdensome requirements of the temporary standards.
