Protect Reproductive Health Care

Decisions regarding the regulations governing the licensure of reproductive health care clinics MUST be based on the best scientific/medical knowledge, not on the religious views of a minority segment of the population.

In their zeal to overturn Roe v. Wade, and to impose their views on abortion, on women and families who don't share their religious views, these 'pro-life' zealots would increase the costs, and thereby deny access to reproductive health care for millions of low-income and uninsured women - a clearly discriminatory move, and one which will undoubtedly cost the lives of many women who are denied necessary medical care.  These cost increases are not based on scientific, medical or safety concerns; they are based on religious views. This flies in the face of our long-standing separation of church and state principles. The care provided at these clinics is not limited to abortions, but to the contrary, the vast majority of the services provided eliminate the need for abortions via effective family planning. In addition, these clinics protect and preserve life by providing necessary preventive health care screenings and treatment for such things as breast cancer and HIV/STD.

It would be unconscionable to deny these services to women and families who need them most.
