Staying in RGGI will save us money on our electric bills and help prepare our communities for severe weather events such as flooding. It makes polluters pay, and invests that money in the families who live and work here in Virginia. If we stay in RGGI at least through 2030, we could upgrade 130,000 homes, saving $89 million annually with average annual savings of $676 per household, and sustaining more than 2,000 jobs. Not to mention the incentives that our power companies will have to limit pollution and emissions. Staying in RGGI is common sense during a time when money is tight for communities, and we are all threatened by the impending climate crisis.
