Protecting the environment is THE critical issue of our time. We must take every possible step to ensure that a livable earth is available not just for future generations, but for ourselves. RGGI is an example of a very successful approach to reduce damage to the climate and environment while simultaneously providing financial and health benefits to Virginia and its citizens.

RGGI has saved consumers money, created jobs, and improved public health, all while cutting in half the carbon pollution from the power plants in the 11 participating states. Virginia’s participation makes good sense from every angle. 

I ask that Virginia continue its successful, beneficial membership in RGGI.
