Proposed Virginia Administrative Code section 22 VAC 40-131-170

Studies show time and time again that a man and woman committed to each other in a marriage relationship are best suited for raising emotionally, socially, and spiritually healthy children. Agencies that strive to place children in a family where husband and wife love each other should be encouraged. If someone is not pleased with an angency doing this they can find one that they are comfortable with that allows any politically correct definition of family. I have an adopted daughter and her birth mom specifically requested that she be raised in a religious home, where husband and wife were committed to each other and their Christian values. Was she being discriminatory? Yes. She based her decision on what she knew was best for her baby and the life she wanted her to have. We need such agencies that allow a "safe" place for birth mom's to go when they are faced with an incredibly hard decision. Please reconsider the proposed VA code proposed by the VA department of social services. Is it really "best" for kids? They are what's at stake here and they are our future. They need all the help they can get! No problem if someone wants to go to an agency that allows all types of families....they can. Please don't force everyone to be the same.
