If you believe in the inherent right to self-defense, then you can see that when the government makes supposed gun free zones, what in fact it is creating is a victim rich environment.  Criminals, by definition, don't obey laws, so the law in effect only restricts law abiding citizens from having a gun for self protection.  This simple understanding that all gun restrictions only affect law abiding citizens is profound but often overlooked.
