Guidance Document Change: The guidance document "Model Policies Concerning Instructional Materials with Sexually Explicit Content" was developed in conjunction with stakeholders in order to comply with SB656 (2022).

Sexually Explicit Materials in Public Schools

I support the model policies to protect innocent children from sexually explicit materials.
Parents are the ones in the best position to make decisions about what their children should or should not be exposed to. In a case where parents are making poor decisions, staff must always err on the side of discretion and seek to protect that child.
School staff that violate model policies seeking to protect children should be so bject to administrative discipline as well as face legal actions.
